English for Speakers of Other Languages

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) serves limited-English-speaking adults ages 16 and over who need to improve their communication skills in English to obtain a job, to function effectively in the community, to continue their education, and/or advance in their careers.  We offer instruction in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and grammar.

Class Schedule

Day Classes:  Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM

Evening Classes:  Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Monday and Wednesday 5:30 - 8:30 PM at Ridge Career Center

Regular attendance is necessary to continue attending class.

Program Information

  • All teachers hold valid teaching certificates and are highly qualified.
  • We have six levels of ESOL classes.
  • We have 8 on-site classes and 11 satellite classes.
  • We have a 20-station Burlington English computer lab which is included in our day and evening on-site classes.
  • Students who complete a progress test before leaving the program will receive a certificate.
  • We help you choose a career path and take the steps to reach your goals.



Orientation will be held on Mondays at 1:00 p.m. and  Tuesdays at 5:00 p.m.  Please call Ms. Elizabeth Padilla at 863.965.5475 if you have any questions about orientation.

  1. Attend the orientation to learn about the program, including the required fee.  You will make a testing appointment at the end of the orientation.
  2. Take a placement test (CASAS), lasting approximately 2-3 hours.  The test costs $20 - cash only.  You must bring your photo ID when you come to test.  Children are not allowed to come with you to the test.

Registration Information

The State of Florida has mandated that all adult school students pay a small tuition fee.

The fee will be:
$  30.00 per semester

Individuals not eligible for our programs:
Individuals with a tourist visa
Temporary international visitors
